Paradox Consulting Partners, LLC became the latest North Carolina company to join the B Corp movement this month announcing their certification on June 28.

“Many companies are paying more attention to their impact on the world,” said Browning. “It’s easy to say you’re a socially responsible company. We wanted to make sure we’re really walking the talk and holding ourselves accountable to continuous improvement.”

B Corp certification is essentially to sustainable business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee. To become certified, Paradox had to prove that the company met stringent performance requirements outlined in the B Impact Assessment, a globally-recognized standard that looks at environmental performance, how a company treats its employees, the impact the company has on its customers and the broader community, as well as the company's accountability, governance, and transparency practices.

In addition to donating five percent of revenue to local nonprofits annually, Paradox also helps companies incorporate more fair and equitable practices into their business and talent systems through its consulting work.
